Commercial Rewire in Swadlincote
Commercial re-wire and LED lighting upgrade completed in Swadlincote with fast turnaround.
We were recently approached by a commercial property landlord to check the electrics of an Industrial Unit for electrical compliance and bring them up to modern standards. We were also asked to move a 3-phase distribution board to another wall. All were to be completed in time and ready for the new occupant who was due to move into their business.
A full fixed wire test and inspection for electrics was carried out and we were able to re-use around 50% of the circuits and complete a re-wire of the older circuits. We then installed additional circuits to suit the requirements of the new business which comprised of a commercial kitchen, two, 3 phase distribution boards and 1 x Single phase consumer unit. A 32a 3-phase socket was also required to be installed, as well as a 16a 3-phase socket.
We also upgraded the old fluorescent tube lighting to LED battens. On our initial testing, we found the old fluorescent tube lighting was drawing the equivalent power to a kettle with it all switched on! With the new LED lighting it was drawing 90% less power and the light output was brighter. The energy savings will more than pay for the new LED lighting within a short period of time, especially with the current energy prices.
A new supply for a roller shutter door was installed in a metal conduit.
We also installed new LED car park lighting fitted with PIR and Photo-cell sensors to save energy.
As there was no gas supply on-site, the heating for the industrial unit was taken care of by using a 3-phase electric space heater for the factory space, and electrical panel heaters in the kitchen and toilets. The hot water was provided by an unvented hot water tank with an immersion heater.
The electrical project was completed on schedule and in time for handover, despite a number of additional requirements.
A Full EIC was provided for the installation works and an EICR was provided for the entire installation. Due to being a commercial property no part P notification was required in this case.
