Swadlincote Business invests in solar panel and battery storage

Spot On Electrical are proud to have been chosen to install solar panels on one of Swadlincote’s most trusted and long standing businesses in South Derbyshire.

Swadlincote electrical supplies have been serving the general public, electricians and industrial factories for over 20 years! And this year, is the year that they taken control of their energy bills and reduced their carbon footprint. With energy prices constantly on the rise, energy is now more than ever a significant area in which businesses can save money.

Three phase solar installation

We installed a total of 14 x 445W JA Solar N-Type Bifacial Solar Panels on top of the industrial unit.

Due to having a 3 phase supply to their commercial premises we installed a Fox ESS 3 phase hybrid inverter, along with Fox ESS battery storage. The batteries allow excess solar to be stored.

We specified Fox ESS inverter and batteries as we have found that they offer excellent value for money considering their performance, reliability and functionality. The app is also excellent and is updated regularly.

What are bifacial solar panels?

Bifacial solar panels have the ability to absorb solar energy from both sides of the panel, so will pick up on light that it reflected off of the roof surface. This is particularly for industrial unit roofs which are often light in colour and as such quite reflective.

 

What are N-type solar panels?

N-type refers to the type of semi-conductors used in the solar panel, N-type are the latest technology are much more efficient and durable then the older P-type solar panels.

Commercial EV Charger Installation

As commercial EV Charger installers we also installed a new Rolec EV charger at the same time, to help them power their electric vehicle fleet. Look out for their sign written electric van driving around Swadlincote and the surrounding area.

Can businesses get grants for solar?

There is some limited availability for solar grants in Derbyshire and the Midlands, Swadlincote Electrical Supplies were able to secure a grant from South Derbyshire District Council through East Midlands Chamber
