Electrical Safety top 5 Tips at Christmas

With Christmas just around the corner, and the increase electrical use within the home we thought we would give you 5 tips to stay safe!

  1. Make sure any outside lighting you use is rated for external use, and has RCD Protection. 
  2. Check all cables for signs of damage, before powering up.
  3. Don't leave Christmas Tree lights on unattended. 
  4. Don't plug extension leads into extension leads, make sure you are not causing anything to overheat/ overload. 
  5. Don't leave electric heaters on unattended.

One other thing to bear in mind is buying electrical gifts online. Make sure they are certified for use within this country as safety standards varies from country to country.
